In another life when we meet

I am not wearing that soon-to-be too-tight skirt I got at a florida goodwill
and you are not staring at me through blue dream eyes
on the side of a street in palm tree fucking paradise,
and I haven’t yet asked you to fill the car up with gas -
you know I hate doing it
but it’s lovely, our little love acts
&
you’re still one two (twenty) three

years from wishing me back into your body
we still have time to do it right
so I don’t ask you to
please let me borrow those jeans you found first
and please let me borrow those friends you met in AP biology class
and please let me borrow your skin, because I want to see if it feels like mine—
it’s made of all the same materials & I think sometimes
I can see where we once fit together

before 12:02 & 12:03 p.m.

on december 7th.

Life of a Wallflower

Hi! Welcome to Life of a Wallflower, a place for introverts, artists, writers and most importantly, self-proclaimed wallflowers. My hope for this site is that people like me, who feel adrift in this chaotic world we call home, can have a garden of their own.
